purpose

The purpose of test is to assess the strength of lower extremities in athletes. Strength in the lower body is an important component in the sports that require dynamic movement and constant jumping.

procedure

  • The tester must explain the test procedure to the subjects.
  • A standardized general warm-up should be conducted before beginning the assessment.
  • Athletes stay with feet to shoulder-width apart, position the barbell across the shoulder, lift it and take a step backward.
  • The back must be straight,eyes forward, chest up and slowly bend the knees until the thighs are parallel with the ground.
  • Slowly extend the knees and control motion until reaching the starting position.
